WHY VOLUNTEER?

Volunteering for this event is a great way to give back… and if that’s not enough – check out the volunteer amenities:

  • One volunteer badge, which allows entry to the tournament Monday through Sunday.
  • Complimentary package lunch and snacks while volunteering
  • Two complimentary green fees at La Reserva de Sotogrande (one per each 2 days)

(*) Green fees to be used in low season. June 19 / july 19 and December 19/ January 20 and need to be booked in advance. Alternatively they can be changed for green fees at Almenara Golf.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
PLAYER SHUTTLE

(Monday – Sunday)
This committee requires 6 days: Monday & Tuesday (practice rounds), and Thursday to Sunday (tournament). Assist in transporting players from some of the greens to the following tee. Must have a valid driver’s license, be familiar with golf buggies and be able to work all day for all 6 days.

CADDIE

(Monday – Sunday)
This committee requires 6-7 days, depending on whether the player starts practicing on Monday or Tuesday. Trolleys are not permitted. Must be a strong person to carry a golf bag for a week, and a golf player. Priority given to low handicaps and English speakers. Caddies will get 40 euros per day directly from the player.

CLUBHOUSE VOLUNTEERS

(Monday – Sunday)
Assist with the coordination of clubhouse operations, perform various tasks such as locker rooms control, check credentials for entrance, assist with information.

LEADERBOARD

(Thursday – Sunday)
Keep updated a leaderboard on course while the competition is going. All leaderboards will be equipped with ipads to check the results and radios to communicate with the LET scoring office. Mandatory training meeting Sunday the 12th of May at 17:00h.

MARSHAL

(Thursday – Sunday)
Promote a positive atmosphere for players and spectators, provide gallery control, locate and protect bad shots. Committee requires a minimum of 2 full days of volunteering. All Marshals must attend the training meeting Wednesday afternoon of tournament week.

TICKET SALES & WILL CALL

(Thursday – Sunday)
Process ticket transactions. Comfortable using electronic devices such as hand-held scanners. Must work a minimum of 2 days.

WALKING SCORER

(Thursday – Sunday)
Accompany a match and input scores into a LET supplied phone. All scorers will also be equipped with radios to communicate with the LET scoring office. Each volunteer is assigned a specific tee time. It is essential to have knowledge of golf, golf etiquette, and be in good physical condition with the ability to walk 18 holes at a pace to keep up with the players. Mandatory training meeting Sunday the 12th of May at 17:00h.
